Retro roadtrips terms and conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all hires of camper pods operated under Retro Roadtrips.

By confirming a booking, the Hirer agrees to the following:

1. Insurance & Driver Eligibility

To hire or tow our trailers, the following conditions apply:

• Any criminal offence within the past 3 years will result in an automatic decline.

• Loss or suspension of licence within the past 12 months will result in an automatic decline.

• Hirers towing a trailer must have at least Third Party Insurance on their towing vehicle.

• A valid and current driver’s licence is required.

• Green P-plate drivers are permitted; however, a higher insurance excess applies (see below).

Additional Insurance Excess

In the event of a claim, the following additional excess amounts apply on top of the standard insurance excess:

• Driver aged 16–20 years: Additional $2,500

• Driver aged 21–24 years: Additional $750

• Driver aged 25+ years but licensed less than 2 years: Additional $500

All insurance excess amounts are payable by the Hirer if a claim occurs.

2. Bond

A bond of $150 is required for all Retro Roadtrips hires.

• The bond will be refunded once the pod has been inspected upon return.

• The pod must be returned clean and in the same condition as collected.

• If additional cleaning, damage repair, missing items, these may be deducted from the bond.

3. Breakdowns & Emergencies

In the event of a breakdown or emergency, please contact us immediately:

Do not arrange major repairs without contacting us first, unless in an emergency situation where safety is at risk.

4. Off-Road Restrictions

Our trailers are not permitted for off-road or 4WD use.

• Driving on recognised and maintained dirt roads suitable for 2WD vehicles is permitted.

• Beach driving, sand driving, and 4WD tracks are strictly prohibited.

• Any damage caused by prohibited use will be the responsibility of the Hirer.

5. Cancellation Policy

• Cancel 7 days or more before booking date → Full credit issued.

• Cancel between 7 days and 2 days before booking date → 50% credit issued.

• Cancel within 48 hours of booking date → No refund or credit.

Credits may be used toward a future booking (subject to availability).

6. Delivery & Collection

Delivery and collection services are available upon request.

• $50 delivery within 25km

• $50 pickup within 25km

• Beyond 25km: $1.50 per kilometre (each way)

The Hirer must ensure safe and suitable access for delivery and collection.
